Executive Bios

Inderpreet S Wadhwa

Director and Chief Executive Officer

Inderpreet Wadhwa is one of the most prominent thought leaders in the Indian solar industry. A renewable energy enthusiast with more than 20 years of experience in technology and infrastructure businesses, Inderpreet founded Udupi Power in 2008. Through his work, he strives to have a direct and positive social impact in terms of improving the quality of life in rural India.

Prior to founding Udupi Power, Inderpreet served as a vice president of Loyalty Lab and as a senior director of Oracle Corporation. Additionally, Inderpreet has been a member of the Private Sector Advisory Group (PSAG) to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Inderpreet received his bachelor's degree in electronics engineering in 1994 from Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab, India. He also graduated from Haas School of Business at University of California Berkeley in 2002.

H. S. Wadhwa

Director and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Wadhwa focuses on government relationships and the internal operations of the Company. He is an ex-Chief Managing Director of India's largest public insurance organization. Mr. Wadhwa has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry in India. He served and/or serves on several boards including General Insurance, India International, Loss Prevention Association and has strong experience of regulatory framework in India. Mr. Wadhwa has excellent operations and management skills. Mr. Wadhwa earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Punjab University, India.

Robert Kelly

Director

From October 2011 to August 2014, Robert Kelly served as the chief financial officer of SolarCity Corporation in San Mateo, California. From August 2009 to October 2011, he served as chief financial officer of Calera Corporation, a clean technology company. Prior to that, he served as an independent consultant providing financial advice to retail energy providers and power developers and also served in various senior leadership roles at Westinghouse Credit Corporation, Lloyds Bank and The Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. Kelly served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of Calpine Corporation, an independent power producer, from March 2002 to November 2005, as president of Calpine Finance Company from March 2001 to November 2005, and held various financial management roles with Calpine from 1991 to 2001. Mr. Kelly is also a member of the board of directors of Solar Mosaic Inc., a U.S. residential solar lending platform, and Solix Biosystems, Inc., a specialty algae products company. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an MBA from Dalhousie University, Canada.

Arno Harris

Director

Arno Harris founded Recurrent Energy, one of North America's largest solar project developers, in 2006. He is a former founder and CEO of Prevalent Power, Inc. and played a key role in starting various companies including RedEnvelope, WineShopper.com and Novo Media Group, Inc. Mr Harris serves as a board member of Advanced Energy Economy Institute, board member emeritus and former board chair of the Solar Energy Industry Association. Mr Harris chairs the Leadership Council of Tipping Point, a grant-making organization dedicated to making poverty preventable and serves as an appointee to the Proposition 39 Citizens Oversight Board. Mr. Harris is a graduate of UC Berkeley.

William B. Elmore

Director

William B. Elmore co-founded Foundation Capital in 1995. He is a former director and past president of the Western Association for Venture Capitalists, and a past director of the National Venture Capital Association. Mr. Elmore has served on the Advisory Council at Stanford Graduate School of Business and is a board member of the Eastside College Preparatory School and Purdue Research Foundation. Mr. Elmore holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Sanjeev Aggarwal

Director

Sanjeev Aggarwal is a co-founder of Helion Venture Partners and has served on the boards of Amba Research, MakeMyTrip Limited and UnitedLex Corporation. He is currently on the boards of IndiaHomes, Eye-Q Vision Private Limited, Clues Networks Inc. and Big Basket. Prior to Helion Venture Partners, Mr. Aggarwal was the founder and chief executive officer of Daksh. Earlier, he worked for 15 years with leading technology companies serving the domestic Indian market. Mr. Aggarwal led the strategic initiatives at Motorola India and has worked with Digital Equipment Corporation in delivering technology solutions. He has also served as the chief executive officer of 3COM India.

Barney Rush

Director

Since 2013, Barney S. Rush has served on the board of ISO – New England, the electric grid and wholesale market operator for six U.S. states. Since November 2015, Mr Rush has also been the Senior Representative of Fieldstone Africa, an investment bank raising capital for power projects in Africa. From July 2010 to December 2013, he served as an Operating Partner at Denham Capital Management, L.P., and from July 2003 to November 2009, he served as the CEO of H2Gen Innovations, Inc., a venture capital backed start-up which developed and manufactured skid-mounted hydrogen generators. In addition, Mr. Rush was Group CEO of Mirant Europe and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bewag, the electric utility serving Berlin, Germany, from August 1999 to May 2002. Mr. Rush holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Harvard College and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University.

Preet Sandhu

Senior Vice President - Construction

Preet Sandhu has been the senior vice president of construction of Udupi Power since February 2010. Mr. Sandhu has over 19 years of experience in civil construction and project development in regulated sectors in India with expertise in transportation, energy and land development. Mr. Sandhu manages engineering and construction for Udupi’s projects.

Surendra Kumar Gupta

Chief Financial Officer

As chief financial officer, Surendra Kumar Gupta plays a key role in evaluating new business proposals from a cost-benefit standpoint. His responsibilities include conceiving new regulatory systems and putting them into effect as well as strengthening existing control measures.

Mr. Gupta has over 36 years of overseas and domestic experience, including in strategic business planning, corporate finance, managing capital raises, and ERP implementation. Prior to joining Udupi Power Project, Mr. Gupta was the group chief financial officer for Al-Suwaidi Holding Company, a provider of operations and maintenance services to Saudi Arabia's oil and gas industry. He has also worked for large manufacturing enterprises.

Mr. Gupta received his bachelor's degree in commerce from Delhi University. A qualified chartered Accountant, he has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1977.

Glen Minyard

Senior Vice President - Research & Development

Glen Minyard has been senior vice president overseeing research and development since September 2010. Glen has 30+ years of experience in design and construction of more than 5,000 photovoltaic (PV) power plants globally. He has overseen the installation of a wide range of residential and large-scale commercial power systems – photovoltaic, wind, and hybrid electrical.Previously, Glen was the president of Minyard Solar Electric, Willits, CA. Before that he managed engineering and production at National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, Colorado.

Glen is a recognized thought leader in PV system design, specializing in solar electric equipment for remote homes, telecom and large industries. Glen holds an associate degree in electronic technology from College of the Redwoods, California and is a Certified CA electrical contractor.

Sandeep Chopra

Head - Supply Chain Management

Since being named as head of strategy and supply chain management in May 2013, Sandeep Chopra has been responsible for change management on large projects and process re-engineering, among other things. Sandeep has more than 15 years of experience in process re-engineering, project management and finance

Previously Sandeep worked with HSBC, where he had responsibility for driving change management in the finance function, including in their finance offshoring center in India. In this role, he managed large service delivery teams and helped set up centers of excellence. Before that, Sandeep held a variety of roles in the assurance practices at Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Sandeep is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He is a chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Mohor Sen

Senior Vice President - Human Resource

Mohor has over 35 years of experience working and consulting for large corporates in areas including project management, human resources, organizational development and people strategy.

Prior to Udupi Power, he has been associated with global players such as KTI-Technip, Arthur Andersen, HCL Technologies, Sapient, and Geopetrol International. His passion lies in building organizations from the ground up.

Mohor is a graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and has a postgraduate degree from the University of Manchester, UK.

Shankar Kumar

Head - Design, Engineering and Operations

Shankar is responsible for design, engineering and operations at Udupi Power. Under his leadership, more than 500 MW of solar PV power plants have been developed with innovative designs and operated near real time under the patent pending National Operating Control Center. Shankar is an engineering graduate from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

Samitla Subba

Head - Marketing

Samitla serves as the marketing head at Udupi Power and focusses on Branding, Communications, Media and Investor Relations. Prior to Udupi Power, she worked with Northern Trust as Financial Analyst. She is a management graduate from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.

Udupi Power's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics is intended to define and clarify the standards for conducting business and behavior at Udupi Power Project Limited.

This Code is designed to promote:
